A study by the University of California, San Francisco and University of Michigan has found that pets help children avoid problems with asthma.  Something about dust and mice guts.  It's science!  Hey, I don't know about all that, but having a pet sure helps to teach responsibility and empathy.  Plus, just look at that face!  There are thousands of wonderful dogs and cats available for adoption at your local animal shelter.  Consider adding a family member to your home.  It might even help you avoid costly medical bills!
